Questions to God

Questions to God

Why doesn’t a person get satisfied with life even the abundance of blessings he/she gets?

Why do people especially those who are close to us, hurt us?

Why can a person get a bit bi-polar at times when asked about their personal struggles?

They say it’s okay, when really it’s not.

Maybe, we just need someone to really understand us. We ask a couple of dinner dates, lunch dates, anything with our favorite food, movies or places, just to be able to relate our sorrows, our joy, our piece of being to other people, but why is it so hard to relate to you?

Maybe, we’re too caught up with our own lives, that we forget about you. Truly, we forget to whom our lives belong to.

Why do we forget what we love the most, and look to the things that need to be done? Why do we keep working at being good every single day, when you are the only thing that is ever really good in all God’s creation?

Why so you long to be close to us everyday, when we are so busy with a lot of things.

Why is it we grow tired, we become weary, and turn away from you, but you come back to us every morning? Every nightfall?

God, there’s nothing we can’t do, but stick to you. That’s the only thing that will be left of us as we go through everyday. You first love us, you never left us, if that’s the only thing that’s left, so let it be so, because we have all in all. Greater than what we previously got.

The Ministry of Commitment

The Ministry of Commitment

“So now finish doing what is well, so that your readiness in desiring it maybe matched by your completing it out of what you have. For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable to what the person has, and not according to what he does not have.” 2 Corinthians 7:11, ESV

The “YES” word is like a controversy nowadays because it seems like there’s an expiry date or extra strings attached to it if you know what I mean.

By saying YES you open doors to new relationships whether work, personal or public; it could make or break you. I’m sure there are some bad decisions we made, and a lot of it sprang not from saying YES, but failing to do our YES consistently.

A lot could cause our commitment to back fire or dwindle down. One is relying on our own strength.

Our human nature is to believe in ourselves, trust our instincts, but these are just lies from the enemy.

Jesus is the source of life, the living water in which we draw our strength from. Through the Holy Spirit at work in us, God is able to do what humans believe is impossible to do.

Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Two is lack of equipping one’s self with God’s Word. If you’re going to conquer your day, start it with arming yourself with God’s Word. Start a habit of reading your Bible and lingering on God’s Word day and night. As for me, I always recommend the wee hours of night, when everyone is asleep and it’s just me and the Lord. Hard to do if you’re sharing a room though. ๐Ÿ™‚ I know some people pray loud, that’s just their way of talking to God, whatever ways God talks to you, listen to it throughout the day, and you’ll far exceed spending an hour of devotional. Totally an awesome and free feeling to just surrender everything to Him and trust in his obedience. God wants to talk to you, give you his unlimited power, He’s open to repairing your weaknesses; show Him you’re serious in getting right with Him. Listen to Him by reading His Word and Obeying Him and trusting in His plan for you, wherever He has placed you right now. It is His blessing just for you.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” 1 John 10:27-28, ESV

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” Romans 13:14

Three is compromising. At times we think it’s normal like stealing internet connection by getting the password without the owner’s consent. Compromising could even be exalting any thought or task higher than God and his commandments.

Most importantly, commitment is not waiting for a sign from God or waiting to be blessed abundantly in order to give more. God already fulfilled an abundant life for me, for you and everyone around us —-eternal life which begins in having that vow to live for Christ. It all began with a YES to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. Maybe you can’t explain how Jesus just started to work through your life, but He did through His Holy Spirit which is know at work in us, and continues to be. Don’t grieve the spirit but sinning, overcome temptations, ask God’s strength, feed yourself with daily bread which is His Word, do His commandments with sincerity. Whatever you have, whatever you’re going through, give it to God, offer it to Him, and you will find true satisfaction in Christ.

“My heart is restless until it rests in You.” – St. Augustine

Time Is In Your Hands

Time Is In Your Hands

I often hear myself and people say, “I don’t have time to do this or that…” It seems like it’s a common excuse or a sickness perhaps with more people wishing they had “more time”.

It’s hard making a schedule and sticking to one, but I learned that no matter how hard you try to plan things, it won’t always turn out the way you planned.

Was there a shift in work schedule? An unexpected call? A visitor just happened to drop by? These are all a product of having time. Having time doesn’t mean your free. Human as we are, we always would want to fill up our day with the things that satisfy us, not unless we’re too tired or lazy to do anything!

Time has always been on our side, it has never changed or ever stopped turning, shouldn’t we turn with it and not against it?

Imagine holding the famous “Time Turner” from Harry Potter as shown in the picture.

Are you thinking of the things you want to go back and do differently? There’s a lot of regrets there, and that’s a waste of time thinking and doing something to change it. It’s already been done, but “you have more time to do better than the past.” You have time, don’t waste it thinking of what could have been done yesterday, spend it by thinking of today, what good can come out of today? You’ll see when you live for the moment, breathe and relax; time is in your hands. Produce something good out of it, and time will be kind enough to give you more!

Deuteronomy 4:39-40, NKJV: “Therefore you shall keep his statutes and his commandments, which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.โ€

Look to the Divine Maker, who hold your time.
