Living Life Better

Living Life Better

Wherever we are, indeed God gives rest, gives peace to those who put his trust on him, and those who make His priority their own priority will never be in lack in strength, courage and provision.

Our strength comes from the Lord, our blessings come from him, we are able to love because of the one who loved us.

So many of us seek to be loved in the wrong places and wrong timing. We create relationships instead of nurturing ones we already have. Look around you, we have been blessed with work — a job were we can earn and have an opportunity to supply ourselves and our family, an opportunity to grow, to learn and take on higher ground, a family, biological or not, they give us better meaning in life, not all families are made the same, not all relationships are fruitful, but we can choose to rise up from our situation.

Life does not guarantee a pain-free experience, we cannot escape pain but we can choose to live every single day better and stronger, and there’s really no other way but to hear and heed to God’s word day and night.

Joshua 1:8, ESV “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Forgetting the Ugly Truth and Pressing On to the New Truth

Forgetting the Ugly Truth and Pressing On to the New Truth

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained. Philippians 3:13-16, ESV

It’s hard to erase how you made people feel in the past whether its good or bad, but mostly it’s the bad memories that old peers identify you with. This shouldn’t worry you because they’re not really friends, but if this still bothers you at all, then something in you needs to change.

We can choose to live by the label people perceive us to be or forget what they say and put on a new identity that is a Christ-like self.

Easier said than done. Admittedly, I also have a problem with old peers in school from grade school to college who have hurt me in some way, and I would associate them as “bully” or “mean” when I was a child, which is a sign of immaturity that I carried by default every time I see the person.  Similar to this situation, I believe most Christians have a difficult time putting on Christ because they are preoccupied with the ugly past whether consciously or unconsciously. I wouldn’t blame it on ourselves though, because it is only by the grace of God that we surrender these hurt daily to God until we arrive at a point of maturity which I would say could only be achieved once we are with Christ, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore our calling to be like Christ every single day. Yup, this is our calling. We were created in the image and likeness of God, but sin separated us temporarily from God, yet God made a way for us to go back to him, and He did that by showing us perfect love — sending His only son, Jesus to serve us by wiping out our sin once and for all through the shedding of his blood. What great love!

Most Christians desire Him more, most pray for hunger for His purpose and a teachable spirit, but we cannot obtain this unless we decide to do what’s right in His eyes every single day, and this pattern is something that develops our maturity as Christians.

Forgetting What Lies Behind

Are you ready to let go of the past? Are you willing to give up all you have for Jesus? Really?

Straining Forward to What Lies Ahead

Are you ready to commit to the Lord all your work?

Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.”

Press On Toward the Goal

Will you continue to run with endurance with Jesus in all kinds of temptation, failure, misunderstanding, disappointments, pain, grief, happiness & abundance that you will face in life?

Will you hold on to the new truth?

2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Continue the race for the eternal prize, a new life with Jesus with zero suffering and full of love and abundance of his glorious riches.

Overwhelmed by His Love

Overwhelmed by His Love

It’s a different thing to be overwhelmed with blessings and to be overwhelmed by His love.

We seek out a lot of things in our lifetime that can be too hard to attain because we believe too much in our own strength. Too many times, the only thing getting behind our purpose is our own plan to succeed, to prosper and to manage what we have with something that isn’t for us to keep. It could be abilities, strengths, relationships, aspirations and finances. What if God asked you to surrender those? Do you truly believe that everything belongs to God and He will take care of you?

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5: 6 – 7, NKJV

I remember my last job interview at an aviation industry, they were looking for a digital manager who can oversee different websites and the branding manager asked me, “Why did you leave your previous employer?” I then answered, “I left because I had too much work to do even on weekends.”

She went on asking, “aren’t you paid overtime?” And I answered her a slightly different answer which made her laugh.

Then finally she dropped the highlight question, “How do you handle pressure?”

I said, “I pray because there are some things you can’t control, so for things beyond your control, leave it to God.”

At that time, it felt like I was ministering to her when in fact I was ministering to myself. At work I was taught to believe in myself, but then I realized, I couldn’t even trust my own mind, my heart, my decisions,  in everything, it must always begin and end with Jesus.

The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22, NKJV

Even as we suffer for things we strive to do, His great blessing is with us, Himself. His sacrificial love that made a way for us to know Him. I’m sure He is knocking on your heart right now to anyone who reads this. Maybe you are just scrolling through fb and can’t sleep, maybe you need terribly need someone to listen to you or maybe you just can’t rest from all the voices shouting into your mind. Tell you what, listen to onesoft  voice whispering in your heart, he is Jesus, Son of the living God who came down from heaven in order that you may receive freedom, freedom from the cares of this world, freedom to run after His will for you. God formed you, he knew exactly what to do with you, but because of sin, we became blemished in the eyes of a loving God, but His love never gave up on us that he sent His one and only son Jesus to die for us, so that by the shedding of His blood, He may claim victory over our sins once and for all! He is the love that casts out all fear, that is fear of death, fear of failure, fear of regret, all kinds of fear that we have in our hearts, therefore believe and be liberated from your bondage. God is with you, who can be against you?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16, NKJV

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1, NKJV

No matter what suffering besets us, we have overcome it through Christ Jesus who overcome death on the cross and has risen and seated at God’s right hand.

Let’s strive for the kind of rest Jesus received from the Lord by submitting ourselves to a life pleasing unto Him.
