“WAIT.”

“WAIT.”

“Let your heart hold hold fast to my words, keep my commandments and live.” Proverbs 4:4

“Suddenly, I woke from a bad dream.” This was how I clearly describe situations that I just let go and let God be in control.

Nightmares will always haunt us when we ponder more about it, feed it with our fears. I don’t claim to be the person free of fear, because it was programmed in us whenever we disobeyed, whenever our hearts do not agree with our mind, a case called neurosis.

What could have Adam and Eve felt when God spoke to them of their disobedience? Shamed and afraid for sure.

Their minds must have been playing with them and negative connotions like “We are done for!” or “this is all your fault!” Must have crossed their minds.

Let’s put the story in a different pace. What if Eve waited for God to arrive before deciding to eat the apple herself? That could have spared both of them. Then again, we can’t put the blame on the first human beings on earth for creating such chaos today, we have to make the right choice to press forward and set things right with God. Yes, WITH HIM. We can’t ever do it without him, we are nothing without him, we have to WAIT ON HIS GOOD PLANS FOR US.

“Wait for” and “Wait On” are two different things. If you say wait for someone, that’s just letting the person pass by you, so you get to go with that person. Waiting On is holding on to what’s good, pure and lovely for you. Philippians 4:8-9, NKJV says, “whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” God is with you all the time when you meditate on His good Word, and act on it. We seem to get a grasp of His Word and forget so easily when pain, struggles and disappointments or even desires and satisfaction beset us. This reveals how much of a hypocrite we are when we already know what God is, what His son Jesus did for us in the cross and what He can do for us, and still forget, doubt or worse, turn away from His commands.

Yet in our rebellion, he still finds a way to run to us, to embrace us just like what He did for Adam and Eve and their offspring including us. He gave us grace, forgiveness, abundance of eternal life even when we didn’t deserve it! What love would be so reckless and at the same time so complete that there is just peace in our hearts?!

God is love. God forgives. God saves. He indeed ran to us and embraced us despite of our shortcomings. What could fill your heart with joy even more? It is only through the love of God that we are saved and granted entrance to his Kingdom.

Wait on Him, keep His commandments and live! Stay in His protection, A new heaven filled with bliss is coming down to earth and those who trust Him will inherit this.

Share the Word with love. Keep doing what’s right in His eyes while we wait on His promise.
