Put Down Those Earplugs. Sing Joyfully!

Put Down Those Earplugs. Sing Joyfully!

Too noisy? Plug it in.

Annoying to listen? Plug it in still.

Needing comfort, focus and peace? Get plugged in to an awesome source.

The way I looked at my life before was to plug in to the things that made me happy. It was like getting free music wherever I go or at least I thought it was free.

Whenever I would find an opportunity which I think would be good for me, or gets a thumbs up from my friends or family,  I would go ahead and plug that into my life.

Everyone is looking for an escape, a way out of a maze that lead us to confusion and disappointments. We try to avoid that every single day, but like any other escape, they are temporary. Do you know that by avoiding your problems, you are already making a decision? By choosing to ignore the problem, you are plugging a cover-up for your lack, and that is not an answer to your need.

WE THINK WE CAN SATISFY WHAT WE NEED by looking to the things of this world.

WHO DO WE ASK FOR THAT NEED? What do you use to fill in that need?

People can fail us, that’s a fact. Our dreams can even fail us. Our own strength. Anything of this world is temporary. Only God can fill the void in our hearts. He alone can give us the strength we need each day to rise up to every challenge, to face our problems and to taste victory!

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation.” Psalms 68:19

“The Lord is the stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name, put their trust in you, for you O Lord have never forsaken those who trust you.” Psalm 9:10

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song, I give thanks to Him. The Lord is the strength of his people, he is the saving refuge of his anointed.” Psalm 28:6-8

And these verses can go on and on, proving His faithfulness to us. We are the ones that need to run to Him. Remain in Him because he created us, not for ourselves, not for this world, but for His Greatest Purpose.

It’s time we put down those earplugs and anything hindering us from hearing His voice. Stop worrying, stop trying to find your own happiness, because He has already given everything to you, His Love.
